Assistant Rabbi
Beth El Welcomes Rabbi Steven Abraham
We’re pleased to welcome our new assistant rabbi, Steven Abraham, to our congregation! Rabbi Abraham graduated from the Jewish Theological Seminary in May of 2011. Before attending JTS, Rabbi Abraham graduated from the University of Baltimore with a degree in Business Management.
While in rabbinical school, Rabbi Abraham served as a rabbinic intern at Congregation Beth Shalom in Chicago, as well as at Congregation Habonim in New York. For years, he has been actively involved with USY, from his time as a participant in high school, to his service as a group leader for numerous summer programs, and most recently as the director of USY on Wheels.
Among his various responsibilities at Beth El, Rabbi Abraham’s main focus is working and engaging with young families and the congregation’s children and teens. He moved to Omaha in July 2011 with his lovely wife Shira, and their beautiful baby girl Naama.
Rabbi Abraham is excited to spend time will all members of the congregation. Feel free to send him an email if you would like to set up a time to meet.
