What Jews Believe

Monthly on Thursdays
12:00-1:00 p.m.
Conveying the belief that “One way we can successfully sustain and transmit a vital Jewish identity is by articulating what we as Jews believe,” Rabbi Mordechai Levin is presenting a new monthly class, “What Do Jews Believe?” on the first Thursday of the month, from noon to 1 p.m. During this course, participants discuss God, worship and prayer, Torah and mitzvot, sin and repentance, plus reward and punishment, among other topics. In addition, questions that are examined include ‘Does belief in God make a difference in our life?’ ‘Why pray?’ ‘Do the Torah’s origins matter?’ ‘Is being ‘chosen’ compatible with multi-culturalism?’ ‘Are we rewarded and punished for our behavior?’ ‘Is there an afterlife?’
Upcoming classes are scheduled for:

December 1
January 5
February 2
March 1
April 5

All adults in the Jewish community are welcome to join in the conversation. There’s no charge to attend; to register, contact Margie.
