This heartwarming Shabbat celebration led by "Miss Patty" Nogg has brought Jewish families from all over the metro area to Beth El for the past several years. Our service provides a wonderful way for grandparents, parents and children of all ages to enjoy welcoming Shabbat in a kid-friendly atmosphere. All services are followed by a special dinner at 6:30 pm, just for our Tot Shabbat families.

Why Do Beth El Families Love Tot Shabbat?
Our Beth El families are singing the praises of our Tot Shabbat program – here’s what they have to say:
“We’ve gone to at least three or four Tot Shabbats in the last few months. We started going because we felt that the babies were old enough now. We like to go to Tot Shabbat because we don’t have to worry about the babies screaming or crying (that’s almost encouraged!) and I really like them seeing all the other kids having such a great time enjoying the service. I think it is important that they see going to synagogue as something that is fun and enjoyable, not a chore. We love the dinners afterward, too - not only because we don’t have to think about what to cook that night, but also because we can meet other families. We sometimes feel we don’t have enough friends with small
children, and we have made some good friends going to Tot Shabbat (and reconnected with some old ones!).”

“We try to attend every Tot Shabbat with the boys (we’ve even hosted one). We enjoy the opportunity to meet other families from the congregation, and it also allows the boys an opportunity to make friends in the Jewish community whom they might not have
otherwise met. We all enjoy Miss Patty, and she makes the service special by making it interactive with the kids, and also by talking to them – and not at them — about religion. It is really heartwarming to hear one of the boys start singing a song at home or in the car that they learned from Miss Patty at Tot Shabbat."
