We are excited to begin offering in-person services at Beth El. In light of COVID-19, we want to create a safe atmosphere and do our best to limit the spread of the virus and keep our members, guests and the greater community safe. With that in mind, the Beth El Reopening Committee has developed the following procedures which embrace CDC guidelines, state and local rules, and expert medical advice.

The following rules will be strictly enforced:
1. Limited Attendance: A limited number of guests will be permitted at each event. The number of permitted attendees will be revisited periodically.
2. Registration: For most programs and services, participants must sign up in advance, to keep gatherings small and enhance our ability for contact tracing in the event of illness. You will be able to sign up online or call the office to register. For Minyan, in lieu of advance registration attendees will sign in upon arrival at Beth El.
3. Self-Administered Health Survey: No one should come to any event if they are ill or have been exposed to COVID-19. No one subject to quarantine will be permitted to attend any Beth El event.
4. Face Coverings: All clergy, staff and attendees, including children above the age of 2, must wear a mask/face covering (without a respiratory valve) that covers nose and mouth at all times.
5. Social Distancing: If you come to an event with a family “pod” member, you and your family can be together, but you must remain at least 6 feet apart from all other participants.
6. BYOK/BYOT: Please bring your own kippah, tallit and tefillin.
7. Food Service: The kitchen is closed and there will be no food service at Beth El other than for specified events.
8. Hand Sanitizer: Please use hand sanitizer frequently, including upon entering the building.
9. Maintaining A Clean Space: We ask for your help to keep our space clean. Hand sanitizer and wipes will be available at all programs and services.
10. Other Logistics:
- Children must remain with a parent/guardian while at Beth El, and they are not permitted in any part of the building without an adult. Currently childcare is not available. We will notify the congregation when childcare becomes available.

- We strongly encourage people to use restrooms before coming.  Anyone who uses the facilities must wipe down the facilities after use, and we will have wipes available.
- Please do not enter the office or other areas of the building.

Please note, these policies are subject to change. We will provide updates as needed and keep the most current copy of our safety policies online. Questions should be directed to Allison at anewfeld@bethel-omaha.org.
