Simchat Torah Morning Service

Sunday, October 8, 2023 23 Tishrei 5784

10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

You may not have had the chance to attend this unique service, which often falls on a weekday morning. But now is your chance! The service will take place on Sunday, October 8 at 10:00 am, while the kids attend a Simchat Torah edition of BESTT. Join us as we read the final portion in the Torah, "V'ZotHaBerachah," and read from the first portion, "Bereshit." We’ll honor our Hatan Torah and Kallah Bereshit with special aliyahs, and challenge our Haftarah reader to persevere while we create all kinds of wacky distractions. Finally, we'll conclude with a musaf service in which Hazzan Krausman goes rogue by throwing out our traditional tunes in favor of some of his favorite songs. Where else can you pray to the tune of “There is No Place Like Nebraska”?

For those who aren't able to attend in person, please join us via Live Stream: https://venue.streamspot.com/eb28b85f

Hatan Torah - Howard Epstein
Beth El is delighted to honor Howard Epstein as Hatan Torah.  Being a long time member of Beth El, Howard has been a past Beth El President, and a member of the Endowment Committee.  Howard has also been heavily involved with the Life and Legacy program.  He is always eager to help whenever and wherever he can.  Congratulations Howard!

Kallah Bereshit - Wendy Berenson
This year we honor Wendy Berenson as our Kallah Bereshist. Wendy serves on Beth El's Board of Trustees, is an active committee member and volunteer, and a frequent Minyan attendee.  We appreciate everything she does for us, and her contagious smile and personality help make Beth El a warm, welcoming place for our congregants.
