BESTT Hebrew High Recruitment Meeting Sunday, May 11, 10:00 am 7th graders and their families are invited to come learn about the High School of Jewish Studies & Merit Scholarship Program. Teens currently enrolled in the program will be on hand to answer your questions. Graduating Seniors Shabbat Friday, May 16, 5:30 pm Join us at as we honor all Beth El congregants who are graduating seniors from area high schools. We invite them to be our guests for dinner at BBQ and Barchu at Zorinsky Lake. Seniors in high school should RSVP and let us know they will be there. We will take a photo of the group and each graduating senior will receive a gift from Beth El Synagogue. BESTT 7th grade and High School Graduation Saturday, May 17, 9:30 am We will honor those students completing 7th grade and those 12th graders graduating from Hebrew High during Shabbat services which will be lead by the students being honored. We will also honor all the teachers in our Hebrew School. Kiddush follows services. Shabbat Tunes and Tales Saturday, May 17, 11:15 - 11:45 am Join us for this 1/2 hour program of Shabbat music and fun for the preschool set & their favorite adult. This will be the last session until fall. BESTT Chaverim Pool Party & Elections Sunday, May 18, 2:00 - 4:00 pm Grab your suit and towel and meet at the home of Tom and Becki Kahn (16637 Mason St.) for an afternoon of swimming and election of next year's officers. Last Cantor Gastón Cantor’s Concert - ‘Broadway on the Bimah!’ Monday, May 19, 7:30 pm If Stephen Sondheim, Leonard Bernstein and Jerome Kern are your cup of tea, you won’t want to miss ‘Broadway on the Bimah!’ our 2008 Cantor’s Scholarship Fund Concert at Beth El. The concert, featuring lively and lovely show tunes written (mostly) by Jewish composers, will be fantastic entertainment for adults and children alike. The entire community is invited to attend. Our singing stars of the evening will be Cantor Gastón, Jeff Taxman and Jonathan Rathsam. Accompaniment will be provided by keyboardist Brent Spivack.
